We had reported last week that Samsung devices running the stable version of Android 12 have been facing an issue related to WhatsApp. On some devices, sending videos using the messaging app would introduce green lines towards the bottom of the video. Now, it looks like the company has released an update to fix the issue.
The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra are getting new updates with firmware version G99xBXXU3BUKG. The update initially started rolling out in Germany, but it then expanded to other markets, including Austria, India, Nepal, Portugal, Spain, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. We’ve tested this on our Galaxy S21 Ultra, and we can confirm that the new firmware fixes the WhatsApp issue.
If you’re a Galaxy S21 series smartphone user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
