Remember how we said Samsung was killing it with Android updates recently? Merely a day after it released a new beta build for the Galaxy S20, the company sent out another today. This latest Galaxy S20 One UI 3.0 beta update actually drops an interesting hint.
Many Samsung fans are curious about when the company will finally be releasing One UI 3.0 to the public. The Galaxy S20 lineup will obviously be the first to get it once the beta program finishes. Chances are that might happen soon.
One UI 3.0 public release may not be that far off now
Samsung is sending out a new Galaxy S20 One UI 3.0 beta today. Firmware version G98xxXXU5ZTKF is now rolling out with the December 2020 security patch. The update weighs in at under 200MB and brings fixed for a handful of bugs.
The beta notice mentions that it will not be possible to rollback to Android 10 using Smart Switch once this firmware update is installed. This means that those participating in the beta program can either rollback now without installing this latest update or kiss Android 10 goodbye on their device.
That’s a pretty good indication that the beta program is coming to an end. The pace at which Samsung is sending out new beta builds has certainly been impressive. So it may not be long now before the program ends and Samsung releases One UI 3.0 for all users.
The company has already committed to releasing One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy S20 lineup before the end of December. This latest beta build is rolling out in India and the UK now and will soon be available to users in other eligible markets as well. If you’re a participant in the program, head over to Settings » Software update menu on your Galaxy S20, S20+ or Galaxy S20 Ultra to get this update.
