Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy A80 in Brazil. The newest and the most premium member of the 2019 Galaxy A family was made official in Thailand more than three months ago. It will be available in Brazil from August 5 at all major online and offline retail stores across the country.
Galaxy A80 arrives in Brazil
Samsung’s unique swivel camera phone will soon hit the streets in Brazil. Featuring a first-of-its-kind sliding, rotating camera system, the smartphone enables a notch and cutout-free display experience. The triple camera setup consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
The camera assembly can rotate 180 degrees to function as the front camera as well. However, Samsung seems to have messed up a little with this mechanism. The camera often gets stuck halfway through the sliding process, at least on the unit we have in our office. Look forward for more on this in our full Galaxy A80 review. In the meantime, you can check out our video preview and hands-on experience.
As for the rest of specifications, the Galaxy A80 features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core processor, a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It, however, lacks a headphone jack as well as a microSD slot.
The Galaxy will go on sale in Brazil starting August 5 for a retail price of 3,499 Brazilian real (~$926). The smartphone comes in Black and Rose color options.
