Samsung’s upcoming tablets are making more and more appearances online as we move closer to their launch. We saw the 11-inch Galaxy Tab S7 in leaked renders earlier this week, and now, the 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S7+, has gone through Geekbench’s benchmark test, giving us a glimpse at some of its specs.
As expected, none of the specs come as a surprise. The 5G-enabled Galaxy Tab S7+ (SM-T976B) is powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor, which can also be found inside the Galaxy S20 series in some markets (there will be no Exynos variant of the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ if history is any guide). The model tested also had 6GB of RAM, though we can imagine Samsung will offer a variant with 8GB of RAM seeing how the Galaxy Tab S7 duo are expected to be pro-grade tablets that take on the Apple iPad Pro, which also comes with 6GB of RAM.
The final Galaxy Tab S7+ feature revealed by Geekbench is that it runs Android 10. The Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ will probably debut with version 2.5 of One UI, like the Galaxy Note 20 series. Other than support for Google’s navigation gestures inside third-party launcher apps, not much is known about what features One UI 2.5 will bring to Galaxy devices. It probably won’t introduce intrusive ads, however, despite what might have been suggested recently by a number of media outlets.
There’s not enough clarity yet on when Samsung intends to make its new flagship tablets official. The Korean giant will launch a new smartwatch and wireless earbuds sometime next month, but it will probably launch the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ alongside the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 in early August. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
