Samsung Galaxy Fold doesn’t have a headphone jack

The Galaxy Fold, Samsung’s elusive foldable smartphone that the company finally showed off to the world, doesn’t have a headphone jack. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Fold will change “the shape of tomorrow”, and that means giving up on some yesteryear features, such as non-folding displays and, well, a headphone jack. A microSD slot isn’t part of the device, either.

Samsung obviously didn’t say anything about this, only choosing to focus on the good stuff in its Galaxy Fold introduction. And barring a headphone jack, the Galaxy Fold does have the latest and greatest specs underneath that stunning folding exterior. It is powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC, comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, six cameras, and even 5G support. Whether the 4,380 mAh battery will be enough to keep the Fold running all day long with plenty of usage in tablet mode remains to be seen.

The Galaxy Fold goes on sale April 26 at a starting price of $1,980. No one has had the chance to play with one yet, but we will hopefully be able to get our hands on the device for a review before Samsung puts it on retail shelves. Not that many who will actually be spending money on the Galaxy Fold will care too much about reviews – they’re probably just going to get it for bragging rights.
