Samsung’s so-called Bixby Speaker will have a better Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform than Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant, revealed Dinesh Paliwal, CEO of Harman International, in a statement issued to The Korea Herald on Monday.
Paliwal added that Samsung is working with Harman to launch “a whole new ecosystem,” corroborating rumors claiming that the firm is building a platform wherein all of its appliances can be controlled using a single application.

This news comes less than a week after Patrick Chomet, Executive VP of Product Strategy at Samsung, confirmed that it’s planning on building “an open ecosystem where the large volume of hardware and software are organically harmonized.”
If recent rumors are to be believed, the Bixby Speaker will sit at the center of the Connected Vision household, allowing residents to control their air conditioning units, blinds, refrigerator, TV and oven using nothing but their voice.

Samsung demonstrated a build of its Connected Vision at IFA 2017 in Berlin, but—obviously—without a Bixby Speaker. Instead, the firm used an application installed on a Galaxy Note 8 to seamlessly manage various home appliances.
