T-Mobile had released an update for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ earlier this month, which promised to bring Daydream compatibility to the smartphones. However, users reported after installing the update that the phones still weren’t compatible with Daydream, and the carrier corrected the official changelog.
Now, Verizon has released an update for Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones, which is supposed to bring Daydream support. However, Android Police is reporting that the update didn’t bring Daydream compatibility to the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. What users do get are new navigation bar features, including new pastel colors and a little button that lets you hide the navigation bar.
The updates with build numbers NRD90M.G950USQU1AQG4 and NRD90M.G955USQU1AQG4 also bring July 2017 security patch to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ as well as an option to send GIFs during voice calls. The update is rolling out now, and if you have installed it already, let us know if the phones actually work with the Daydream headset.
